KEN PIKE

Square Dance Caller WA

I first started dancing in July, 1968. In 1979, I become interested in calling so I joined the Callers Association of Western Australia. Under the tuition of Keith Lethbridge I conducted several beginner classes, and in 1981 I started the Drifters Square Dance Club. In April 1982, I successfully passed my Callers test to become a qualified club caller.  In 1985 I re opened the Gidgegannup Square Dance Club that had been in recess for several years, after 10 years I handed it over to other callers.

My first calling experience at Nationals, was in,   Brisbane 1990, Adelaide 1992, Perth 1993, 2002, 2009, and in 2018 worked on the committee and called at the 59th Convention.

Over the years I have served on the executive for our Callers Association as President, Vice President, and am currently Treasurer.

Unfortunately the Drifters has closed, however I do call weekly with Happy Wanderers and cover for Gidgegannup.
