Rufina Cheng

Rufina started square dancing in 1999 with Fred Meads’ Sparkilate Club.  It opened up a whole new world to her.  A year later, she took up round dancing with Dance Around.  She enjoyed both activities with a passion, and they quickly became an important part of her life.  She is currently dancing with Southside Rounds and Hillbillies in Beecroft, Sydney.

From 2000 to 2009, she participated in competition square dancing, and served as the competition society’s program secretary for 2 years.  She has attended 10 Australian National Conventions since 2006, and ventured to Springfield, Massachusetts for the U.S. National Convention in 2015.  She has also danced in Canada and New Zealand while on family holidays.

Rufina believes the biggest asset of square dancing is its warm and wonderful people.  She considers it a privilege to be able to connect with them from around Australia and the world to assist them with their registrations to this Convention.
